At the heart and core of Praying Pelican Missions are the incredible pastors, ministry leaders, and community organizers who work day in and day out to be the hands and feet of Jesus to those around them.
Pastor Silver King Sing serves as the lead pastor of Comunidad Misión Integral in Nicaragua. Prior to entering into full-time ministry in 2016, he worked in a call center while his father led the church. However, after his father fell ill and passed away, Silver was called upon to take up the mantle and lead the congregation. The transition was a hard one - many in the church thought he was too young and doubted his ability to connect with the congregation. Attendance dwindled, shrinking down to only a dozen people.
Now, four years later, Pastor Silver leads a thriving and vibrant church community! Roughly 90 people attend the church on a weekly basis, many of whom are younger, which has broadened the scope of who the church had been reaching. A discipleship program quickly plugs church members into opportunities to serve the church and community.
Comunidad Misión Integral is relentlessly active in their community. Three times each week, the church runs a feeding program for 60 children, providing a meal and Bible teaching. They would love to expand the program but are working with limited resources. Volunteers from the church also spend time feeding and clothing those in the garbage dumps, hospitals, and prisons, as well as the homeless population. Youth in the community get plugged in at the church through free English classes. The church also hosts two soccer tournaments annually, with 11 teams competing weekly over the course of several months. It is an incredible opportunity for both discipleship and evangelism!
Pastor Silver and his church are actively reaching their community for Christ. We are so grateful for his partnership and to be in a position to support and encourage his God-given calling and giftings. Leaders like him are the reason we exist, and we are grateful to be partners of one heart and passion, all so that more people would know the life-changing love of Jesus.
PPM believes that when the Church is united, God does incredible things. Our organization partners with local churches and ministries throughout the world, encouraging and assisting them as they serve their communities. These partners are on the front lines, serving sacrificially and sharing God’s love relentlessly. This is our heartbeat. TOGETHER.
