TOGETHER. Meet Tanesha Ashbourne!

Meet Tanesha Ashbourne, a minister in the Lucea Circuit of Baptist Churches in Jamaica. God is using her to impact the youth in her community in incredible ways. Her story is an example of what God is doing through amazing leaders like her throughout the world.

We were introduced to Tanesha by one of our long-term partners in Jamaica (pictured here with Tanesha). At the time, she was working her way through a year-long pastoral internship, which was the culmination of many years of study, with the intention of receiving her ordination through the Jamaica Baptist Union. While still an intern serving in her community, God had given her a calling to start a youth ministry and to also implement a feeding program at her church. She simply could not look past the needs of her neighbors, especially young people who needed to hear the message of God’s love and who needed someone to care for them.

We watched with great joy this last February (2020) as Tanesha was the only female pastor in her cohort to be fully accredited by the Jamaica Baptist Union! In the time since our first meeting, she has realized her dream of starting a youth ministry and feeding program. We are humbled and proud to work alongside her and to call her our friend. Tanesha’s story is an example of how God is raising up passionate leaders all over the world to incredibly impact their communities.
