358 Days to Go

358 Days to Go

Sara Marie Moore | Jul 8, 2015

A mission trip lasts seven days. What about the remaining 358 days of the year? Certainly missional living doesn’t stop at the end of your mission trip.

What is a missional lifestyle? It is living your life day in and day out with a heart to serve and share Christ. It’s rarely as glamorous or exciting as the thrill of a seven day mission trip. But it is just as worth it. In fact, it is worth all of the 358 days of your year you are not on a mission trip.

It can be as simple as letting your little sister borrow your shoes. It can be as adventurous and reminiscent as a road trip to the city food shelf with your former mission team. But living a missional lifestyle has a common theme: Getting outside of yourself and serving as Christ served. You can do it anywhere.

Here are 50 ways to keep living a missional lifestyle:

  1. Volunteer at your local soup kitchen
  2. Spend time praying for your favorite country
  3. Read a devotional on missions
  4. Give strawberries to your neighbors
  5. Write a letter to your Grandmother
  6. Share about Christ on the bus
  7. Say ‘God bless your day’ to a cashier

  19. Donate Christmas gifts to a shelter
  20. Write encouraging notes to your sports teammates
  21. Volunteer in your church Sunday School
  22. Bake an ethnic dish for your family
  23. Call your cousin
  24. Make a neighborhood map and meet your neighbors
  25. Play a part in an Easter play
  26. Read to residents at a nursing home
  27. Tutor an immigrant child in math
  28. Paint a picture of a cross and give it to a friend
  29. Give Valentines to those you wouldn’t normally
  30. Have a tea party for single moms
  31. Support your friend on their mission trip
  32. Attend an ethnic festival
  33. Donate jewelry you rarely wear to a shelter
