The Service Award was designed to recognize outstanding service to the Professional Photographers of Michigan. The motivation for service should not be the award, but the new friends and benefits we provide to our fellow members. As we service side by side we are providing the foundation for our association to better serve each of us. The involvement of all members in the operation and advancement of the association will bring about strength and unity far beyond that which could be achieved by any of us individually.
These awards may be presented to an Active, Associate, Allied, Artisan, and Life/Retired members in good standing.

RULES
Please read and follow these rules exactly! To not do so will most likely cause loss of credits. We cannot become involved in correspondence over lack of information. If instructions and rules are not followed, we will have no choice but to disallow credits. If a member feels they are deserving of merit for some unspecified service, that member should submit a formal written request to the Service Award Committee. All decisions of eligibility for credits will be made by the five members of that committee with the approval of the PPM Board of Directors. These decisions will be final.
1. Credits are awarded on a calendar year basis and must be reported to the Service Award Chairperson by February 28th each year. You may send information as you receive it or hold it till you receive the form and send it all at once. All services must be initialed by the chairperson in charge. Please send the Service Awards Form every year. Credits earned prior to the immediately preceding calendar year will not receive credit. Medallions will be presented at our annual awards banquet at the convention, but if time does not allow registration of the credits and Service Award approval, the award will be made at the next convention.
2. Proof of performance for credits must be included with requests for credits. This can be a copy of the program, letter from the president or group, copy of PPA Merit, etc. All proofs of performance must include the exact date of performance. This is very important. Without the date we cannot credit the proper year.
3. No one person can acquire more than 10 competition points in one year, as well as no more than six Associated Service Credits. There is no limit on the number of other service credits that can be earned per year. Accumulation of credits is retroactive as of January 1st, 1991, our Golden Anniversary Year.
4. THe Michigan Service Award requires a minimum of 15 service credits. It cannot be earned by competition credits alone.
5. The PPM Service Award committee, by a 3/5 vote, may retract a member's credit for sufficient cause.
