PPM Membership Categories


ACTIVE MEMBER
Active membership shall consist of owners or managers of photographic businesses who are actively engaged in any phase of the photographic profession and have all required licenses and permits for doing business in their state or province and municipality. Privileges shall include the right to vote, hold a position on the PPM Board of Directors and be eligible to be granted life membership. Each studio is eligible to have up to two Active Members.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER
Associate members must be employed in a photographic business. No part owner or corporate officer may hold an Associate membership unless the partnership or corporation is represented by an Active membership. Applicant must be sponsored by two Active members. Associate membership does include voting privileges.

ALLIED MEMBERSHIP
Allied membership shall consist of owners, managers or salespersons, or employees of stock houses, dealers or manufacturers or processors of photographic materials or supplies. The category shall not include persons engaged as outside salespeople, hired by a studio or other organization, for the purpose of inducing the retail public to purchase coupons, photographs, sales contracts, or any other device or media designed to induce the purchaser to have his photographic needs filled by the employer of such persons.  Allied membership includes voting privileges.

CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP
After two full dues paying members from the same studio are paid. Corporate membership includes voting privileges.

OUT OF STATE MEMBERSHIP
Applicant must be sponsored by two Active members. Membership does not include voting privileges.

RETIRED MEMBERSHIP
Any retired person who has been a member of the Professional Photographers of Michigan for a minimum of 20 years may continue their membership as a Retired Member. They shall be eligible to attend all regular functions of PPM and shall receive all official communications. Dues for retired members shall be one-half of the pre-retirement category.

SALES TAX LICENSE NOTICE
All members who are billing the public for photographic services shall have a current state sales tax license.

 

Eligibility For Membership

Any professional photographer, artisan or vendor representative who subscribes to the Code of Ethicsof the Professional Photographers of Michigan and is actively engaged in any of the aforementioned phases of the photographic business and is 18 years of age or older, shall be eligible to become a member of the Professional Photographers of Michigan. Such applicant is subject to the classifications herewith set forth and with the approval of the Board of Directors. Applicant’s first year of membership, if accepted, is probationary. By choosing “I ACCEPT,” I agree to the these terms and to abide by the Code of Ethics.
